Summer is an excellent time to study abroad! Programs might include one or two academic classes, or internships, and vary in length from, with the opportunity to travel independently before or after the formal program.
All of Salem's partner organizations offer summer study abroad programs. Some of the excellent opportunities include
- Hollins University's summer internship program in London
- Meredith College's summer programs in Sansepolcro, Italy, which include Italian life and culture or special topics courses
- AIFS Study Abroad's summer internships program in Berlin, Rome, and Florence (no language proficiency required!)
- AIFS Study Abroad's soccer training in Barcelona
- AIFS Study Abroad's service learning program in South Africa
- BCA Study Abroad's language immersion in German, Arabic, Spanish, French
Salem students may also arrange independent studies or internships over the summer at international destinations. To do this, you will need to coordinate with both the Coordinator of Study Abroad to approve your international travel, and your faculty sponsor who will help you design your academic work and provide your grade. You will be responsible for arranging any necessary travel (including a work visa) and housing.
